As a tribute to the history of Batman, and in honour of his 75th anniversary, I thought the Killing Joke bomber from BlackMilk was the most fitting Batman fashion I could find. I know I do fashion, and not so much explaining relevance, informing on Batman history or all that, but this bomber absolutely calls for it.The Killing Joke set up Batman to be...well...everything he is. Since 1988, the graphic novel had laid the groundwork to shape Batman into the edgier darker brooding super stud that he is. But it did more than that. It defined some the surrounding characters like Barbara Gordon and The Joker, it is arguably the best representation of the Joker-Batman dynamic, and it became a New York Times Best Seller. No small feat for a graphic novel.
What's a great bomber, and a swoon-worthy hero, without a killer outfit to pull it all together? Unjust, that's what. And we all know, Batman's not having that. I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple but still kind of edgy (might have went too far and tread into bordeline-stripperesque territory. Oops.) With an intricate jacket like this one, simple is better, so a basic yellow crop added a touch of brightness without being too distracting. Soften up all the grey and black with a bit of accent-coloured jewelry and bang, pow, wham! You've got yourself a winning outfit.
