Being broke, constantly, I always attempted to get the most of my clothing. I would innovate (ok, maybe giving myself a bit too much credit there) to make my clothing work in new ways, for any season and unexpected occasions. Also, I don't like being cold. I don't care how much money I'm saving by re-wearing clothes, if I'm freezing my butt off that's just not going to happen. I don't know why, but I'm always cold. It's my curse. So naturally, I had to factor that in while building my outfits and trying to make summer pieces work for fall. How is a girl supposed to wear shorts in fall, living in Canada?! Unheard of. Though now it seems a whole lot more acceptable. I'm sticking by this claim: I started this trend, because with shorts as cute as these from Welovefine who wouldn't want to wear them year round?
So who knew? Putting nylons under shorts, and layering it up with cute tees, chunky sweaters, and adorable boots makes an instantly cute and unexpected outfit. It adds a bit of je ne sais quoi. It's a look that's a bit bold, and a lot practical when you're trying to shop less. And really, who doesn't love getting a little extra wear out of their favourite pieces? Pieces as cute as these storm trooper shorts deserve to be worn as often as possible. So be a trooper and face the cold in shorts. You'll be fine, I promise.
