So does this mean I need to pack away my crop tops? (Have you noticed I really like crop tops?) I just bought these awesome new Game of Thrones ones from Urban Planet (for only $12!). Who saw that one coming right? And I am just NOT ready to stash them at the bottom of my summer clothes drawer, not to be seen again for 10 months. No. I refuse. I'm taking a stand and wearing my crop tops through fall. WHO'S WITH ME?!
At first I thought this was a ridiculous concept, especially considering I'm already freezing and it's still only August. I'm not saying you'll get wear out of these through a harsh long Canadian winter (curse you Canada...) but I am suggesting you can prolong the lifespan of your crop tops at least til, like, maybe October or something?
I gave this idea a test run (kind of accidentally) at a friends backyard barbeque/birthday party. It was a pretty chilly August evening, I had decided I absolutely HAD to wear and show off my new purchase, but it was too cold to wear it alone. In my haste to make this crop top work into an outfit that wouldn't leave my teeth chattering, I threw a plaid shirt over it just to see how it would look. I left the shirt open over the crop, went to check the mirror and I was pleasantly surprised. I was covered up enough that I wasn't shivering, and the plaid fit the appropriate semi-chilly almost-fall note perfectly. Grunge and plaid always come back just in time for fall. It makes me pretty happy. Anyway, it was an all-around great transition outfit for a girl who wasn't quite yet ready to give up on summer.
So, crop tops in the fall? YES YOU CAN!!!
