So, my initial plan was to post something new basically as soon as I landed from my New York trip. In hindsight, that might have been idealistic even in the most favourable circumstances. Which, I assure you, are NOT what I experienced. Flight cancellations and delay after delay caused me to spend 8 hours in an airport just trying to get home. It also caused me to miss my sister-in-laws birthday :( so I had to make it up to her the next day. This also meant that I got a whopping three hours of sleep before putting in another full day of work, and then heading over to visit my sister-in-law. Naturally, by the time Friday was done, I was comatose.
But even at my most exhausted, there is always time on the weekends for DnD. Sounds ridiculous but as me and my friends get older, we get busier, we have so many more obligations and responsibilities to tend to. Ick. Also, living anywhere near Toronto is a hilarious (if you're not the one trying to make it happen, that is) fantasy. So now my friends are busy, AND live far away. If the planets align and we have a chance to play, you take it! And you do so in style!
Last year you may have noticed, there was no annual Anime North haul. Honestly, the main reason for this is because I only bought one thing. Yep. One thing, in 3 days worth of shopping in nerd heaven. The restraint is real. But more accurately I'm pretty sure I just had/ have no expendable income. Yeah, don't be waiting for a huge haul this year either. Anyway, despite the quantity being absurdly low, I've got to say this was probably one of my all time favourite purchases. A dice bag. That's it. Pretty sure it cost me $2.00. I wish I still had the card for the seller, if I run into them this year I'll update the post, promise.
Just like every other aspect of life, everything is just better when accessorised properly. Check out the awesome dice bag (and sketch a friend did of my character that I am absolutely obsessed with). Let me know, are there any random little things that brighten up your everyday activities? What geek accessory can you not go without?
