So, at this point, I did not have an appropriate outfit. What do I do? Do I wear something Marvel in general? All I had that was clean and falls under the Marvel category was a Spider-Man cropped sweatshirt. Is that better, or worse than just wearing like...jeans and a tee shirt or something? Well, that's what I went wearing. Cropped Spider-man sweatshirt (see image on the left), black skinny jeans, cutout booties and a light anorak jacket. While the outfit overall looked really good (at least, I thought so) I honestly could not get around that this was what I was wearing to a totally unrelated Marvel movie. I actually didn't feel better about it until I saw a guy in the theatre wearing a Batman hat. If I was inappropriate for the occasion this guy was WAY out of line...and this coming from a girl who LOVES Batman.
Anyway, even worse than that was when I came home and started shopping for some sort of Guardians related merch, to ensure this embarrassment never befalls me again, I could not find a single cute thing. So disappointing. Maybe that's why I didn't have anything Guardians related to begin with. It all felt so generic and mass produced (minus the Starlord tee I posted a week or so ago...)
Moral of the story: I may be a ridiculous person but this was actually something that I felt really weird and uncomfortable with. I can laugh at myself for it, honestly this wasn't some life ruining thing. But I definitely thought about it more than a normal person would.
Check out below (and above) for the outfit I actually went to the movies in, and weigh in! Totally cool? Or an absolute no-go for the occasion?
