I love this dress because it's so casual and easy to wear. It doesn't need an event or an occasion. All it needs is a cute belt (which makes the cutoff between skirt and tee less harsh-looking and emphasizes your cute little waist) and some fun accessories. The light flow-y nature of the dress makes it not only super comfortable but perfect for all things daytime-summer too. Pick some patterned flats to add some interest, a cross-body bag for all your essentials and some unexpected jewelry. Easy enough to throw on after the beach like a cover-up, wear to BBQs, wear to amusement parks, wear it shopping. It works regardless. Obviously it doesn't work so well for night time events, or daytime events that are a bit more formal. If it's any kind of party other than a house party, pick a different dress, this one is not exactly bridal shower appropriate.
Normally I pick one theme or specific area of geekiness to blog about. But then I found this adorable dress at LyannasPLT and it was love at first sight. While it's still mostly gamer-oriented, and more specifically classic gamer oriented, there's still a nod to more modern FPS type games with the master chief helmet, and even to anime with Ash's hat. Though I suppose Pokemon was a game too... I love this dress because it's so casual and easy to wear. It doesn't need an event or an occasion. Rochelle BInstead of fairy tales, my dad read me Batman comics as a kid. My mom preferred to dress me up as a princess. This chic-geek combo is the result. Archives
